For further information about purchasing a burial plot, or making a donation to the Newman Memorial Cemetery Fund, please call the church office at 255-4353.

Oakland Christian Church has a Special Offering on Memorial Sunday each mid-May to benefit the Newman Memorial Cemetery Fund.

Receptions for Bereaved Families
The Circle II Women's Fellowship of Oakland Christian Church hosts about 10 receptions annually with various refreshments and finger foods for the bereaved family and those attending a burial service in the cemetery, at no cost.  Most area funeral homes are aware that we do this, however, if this is something you would like, please call the church office at 255-4353 to inquire about it, or ask your Funeral Service Director to call the office on your behalf.

Genealogists:  The church office is open 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Monday - Friday.  To see the INDEX COPY of our cemetery records, please CLICK HERE.

Our cemetery began in 1882, and if your ancestor died prior to 1882, they would be buried in another Suffolk cemetery.

All research with our records must be done in the church office.  Copies can be made (within reason).

If you have something in particular you are looking for, please call first to make sure it is here and available.

Our Cemetery records are now on a Microscoft Access database, and we hope to have this information available through this website in the near the future.
