In 1995 Oakland
started an annual fair to held in the fall with the dual
purpose of raising money to help those in need in our church
and community and to help fund the building fund. Half of
the Fall Fest money goes to Oakland's Building Fund and the
other half goes back to the community by way of those in
need in our church and our community. These
proceeds have assisted individuals and charities with food,
clothing, shelter, medications, medical check-ups, medical
attention, transportation, building materials, cleaning
supplies, and much more. This assistance is above and
beyond our annual budgeted benevolences.
To date the Fall Fest
has raised approximately $70,000.
In Addition:
Our Youth help pay for their choir trips, their trips to the
U.C.C. National and Regional Youth Events.
Youth have the Brunswick
Stew lunch.
The Girls Scouts are
able to help fund their local group and programs. The
Girls Scouts have a
Yard Sale and sell Girl
Scout products.
