One of the
most helpful ministries at Oakland Christian Church is our
Shepherd Ministry. The purpose of the
Shepherd Ministry is to create,
maintain, and sustain loving and caring relationships
within the life of our
Church Family. To help achieve this goal, each
deacon has been assigned
families within the Church to "Shepherd."
By "Shepherd" we mean to pray
with you and for you, keep abreast of illnesses,
events, needs in your
family and assure you that you are indeed a very
important part of our
Church.
At the January deacons
meeting the deacons are given a Shepherd Ministry list.
Each deacon then sends
out a letter to those families on their Shepherd list to let
them know he/she
will be their "Shepherd" for the coming year.
In order
to achieve the above
goals, the deacons and church needs the members help to
keep in touch with
each other, be it on Sunday morning or during the week.
